Amethyst Flower Farm

πŸ“Tarrys, B.C

Malissa and her family purchased Amethyst Flower Farm in Tarry’s BC in 2020. They’re passionate about being good stewards of the planet, so they use no-till farming methods and only use organic materials.

You can find Amethyst’s bouquets in the following stores:

  • Evergreen Foods in Crescent Valley, BC
  • Ferraro Foods in both Rossland and Trail, BC
  • Kootenay Market in Castlegar, BC.

In the summer, you can go to Amethyst’s own farm stand every Saturday at 2273 Hwy 3A. in Tarrys, B.C, or visit them at the Nelson Farmer’s Market every Wednesday on Baker Street.

If you want an arrangement that’s a bit more permanent than fresh-cut flowers, you can also purchase seasonal dried flower arrangements from the website.

Bouquet subscriptions during the growing season can be purchased for either 6 weeks (every other week) for $160 or 12 weeks (every week) for $300. There’s more information on pickup options on the website.

Dutch Girl Peonies

πŸ“Beasley, BC

If you want something a little different, you could always go for a single, stunning bloom instead of a bouquet. This Kootenay flower farm offers something truly specialized – over 70 varieties of peonies on their 300-acre farm above the Kootenay River in Beasley.

You can buy individual cut flower blooms at their farm or from their website between June 15 – July 15, depending on weather conditions.

If you’re a peony lover who wants to get started with a flower garden at home, keep an eye out for their selection of root divisions that are for sale in the fall, or head over to the farm to pick up potted plants.

Occasionally, the farm hosts flower arranging workshops on the property in collaboration with Bear Spring Eco Retreat.

Early Bird Acres

πŸ“Fruitvale, BC

Early Bird Acres is a family-run cut-flower farm whose owners are passionate about providing blooms using natural practices that preserve soil health. The vision for the farm came about in 2020 when the family garden tripled at the beginning of the season and then doubled again by the end.

Their bouquets can be purchased at Liberty Foods in Fruitvale, BC, or at Trail’s IncrEdible Farmer’s Market on Esplanade Ave during the summer. Custom orders can be picked up at the farm gate.

Bouquet subscriptions begin in the spring with their tulips and go throughout the season.

Other offerings include seasonal workshops (like wreath making) and Farmer’s Choice do-it-yourself buckets (for if you want to arrange your own blooms).

Check out more information about the farm’s beginnings and current offerings on their website.
