Nelson’s annual road race, Run Like a Mother is a great way to get outside and celebrate the strength of mothers with a 5k, 10k, or half marathon! If you haven’t signed up, they’re almost sold out, but come cheer on the athletes regardless! It starts on Baker Street, and is the only race of its kind in Nelson all year. Plus moms get a carnation at the finish line💐

This intergenerational musical event promises a delightful afternoon filled with beautiful melodies. The Nelson Community Band, composed of passionate local musicians, will showcase their talents alongside the energetic and enthusiastic young musicians of the Trafalgar Middle School Band.
Expect a heartwarming program featuring a variety of musical styles, from classic favorites to contemporary pieces. Witness the joy of music as these talented groups come together to support the arts and fundraise to send Trafalgar’s band to Sun Peaks Music Festival.
Alcohol Ink Class

Is your mom an aspiring artist? Here’s one for you!
For the uninitiated, alcohol ink is a fast-drying, vibrant ink used for creating colorful, layered effects. Hosted by Brenda Cavalier at Cowan’s Office Supply, this class will introduce participants to the medium in a guided setting perfect for first-timers!
Each participant will be provided with a 8×12 white ceramic tile, the use of a good range of Ranger’s alcohol inks, paint brushes, isopropyl alcohol, and all supplies required to create your own masterpieces. Students will learn how to blend ink and isopropyl, and have the opportunity to lo use a variety of different tools to create different effects.
