You know the drill folks: Castlegar Burger Month is here! In the same vein as Trail/Rossland Burger Month and Nelson Burger Month, Castlegar is returning with their 3rd Burger Month that runs throughout October!
From October 1st – October 31st, eleven restaurants will offer their most elaborate burger creation and compete for your votes for the best burger in town.

Castlegar Burger Month Menu 2026
B’s Eatery at Chances – Maple-Bacon Smoked Chicken Burger
Address: 100 Hall Rd., Castlegar, BC
72 hours maple-bacon spice cured chicken breast, smoked in house with charred barrel woods then layered with Swiss cheese, macerated red onion, buffalo tomato and green leaf lettuce, with compliments of lemon preserved aioli on a brioche bun.
Birchbank Bistro – Out of Bounds Burger

Wagyu patty with ham, bacon, cheddar, fried egg, lettuce, tomato, pickles, garlic aioli on a brioche bun.
Grub Side at Grants Fine Dining – Grubs Messy Masterpiece
Address: 186 Columbia Ave., Castlegar, BC
A fresh made burger patty crafted from local beef topped with Monterey Jack cheese, a chef created sweet, spicy chorizo ragù, a crisp fried green tomato and arugula. Sandwiched between our house made potato bun and finished with a velvety avocado aioli.
MapleMirch – Maple Medley

An Angus patty with melted cheddar and maple chilli glazed bacon on a toasted brioche bun. Balanced by sweet mango relish, tangy tamarind mayo, and a crunch of sautéed coconut cabbage, it’s finished with a crispy turmeric tater bite on top. A unique mix of global flavors worth a try.
Tonik Distillery – French Onion Burger

1/3 lbs. all beef patty smothered in Swiss cheese with sautéed Provençal mushrooms & onions, sauced with French onion aioli & lemongrass gin mustard, baby spinach, fresh tomato, and Polskis served on our homemade honey glazed pizza dough bun.
The Lionshead Smoke & Brew Pub – House-Made Brisket Brie Burger
Address: 2629 Broadwater Rd., Robson, BC
A juicy, house-made brisket burger piled high with creamy Brie, sweet-and-savory bacon pear jam, peppery arugula, and golden crispy onions. Smothered with creamy garlic aioli and finished with a drizzle of balsamic glaze reduction that ties every bite together. All stacked on a soft brioche bun for an irresistibly rich, smoky, sweet, and savory burger experience. GF bun available.
Backeddy Pub – The Brie + Pear Affair

Brie pre-“pear”ed to love every bite of this burger… Our hand-pressed beef patty topped with creamy Brie, sweet poached pear, and peppery arugula tossed in a rich balsamic reduction. Finished with savoury bacon onion jam, crunchy hickory sticks, and our garlic aioli, all stacked on a toasted brioche bun.

The Harvest Moon Breakfast Burger!! It’s an artisan style breakfast burger on a croissant bun, with Antionette’s Salt Spring sauce, egg, aged cheddar, sausage, tomato and arugula.

House-ground, 6oz lamb patty topped with Kefalograviera (Greek) cheese and olive tapenade, balanced with fresh spinach, tomato, and red onion, finished with garlic aioli on a brioche bun from Crumbs Bakery.
The Nineteenth at Castlegar Golf Club – Pork Dumpling Smashed Burger

Seared Sakura Farms pork dumpling patty, sriracha mayo, chilli crunch (optional), crispy fried wonton, Asian sesame slaw, toasted brioche bun. Panko-crusted marinated jumbo tiger prawn.

How to Vote
Votes will be tallied after the competition closes October 31st! You can vote online once a day per person, or in-person via a ballot given to you by your waiter at each of the participating restaurants.
Rank your favourite burger from 1 to 5 in three categories:

- Taste
- Originality
If you vote for your favourite burger you’ll be entered to win a $25 gift certificate to each of the participating restaurants!

2025 Castlegar Burger Month Winner
The 2025 Castlegar Burger Month champion was the Bacon Popper Burger from The Backeddy!
Here was our review:
If your perfect burger involves spice, crunch, and the joy of cream cheese, The Backeddy is calling your name.
This stacked burger features a jalapeño cream cheese–stuffed patty (yes, stuffed), crispy onions, bacon, arugula, garlic aioli, and to top it all off—an actual jalapeño popper skewered on top like a spicy little crown.
The patty is rich and juicy, with the creamy cheese oozing through in every bite. The cream cheese and garlic aioli keep things nice and saucy, while the crispy onions and arugula add a satisfying crunch and a fresh bite to balance all that richness.
Great size, big flavour, and serious attention to detail—this burger doesn’t just bring the heat, it brings everything. If you’re a jalapeño popper fan, this’ll be your Burger Month jam.
2024 Castlegar Burger Month Winner
The 2024 Castlegar Burger Month champion was the Maple Mirch – Masala Date Burger!
We loved the Masala Date Burger last year, with its croissant bun, sweet and savoury date sauce, and curry flavours.
It was so good, it actually won the competition in ALL THREE categories: presentation, taste, and originality! Huge congratulations to Maple Mirch!
