You know the drill folks: it’s Castlegar Burger Month. In the same vein as Trail/Rossland Burger Month and Nelson Burger Month, Castlegar is introducing their own Burger Month that runs throughout August!
From August 1st – August 31st, eight restaurants will offer their most elaborate burger creation and compete for your votes for the best burger in town.
Castlegar Burger Month 2024 Competitors
Get ready for a tasty competition the likes of which Castlegar has never seen! Eight of Castlegar’s finest culinary establishments are set to battle it out for the title of Best Burger in Town during Burger Month. Here’s the contestants:
- The Lions Head Pub: Known for its classic pub fare, amazing patio, and hearty classic decor, the Lions Head Pub is sure to bring a bold twist to the classic burger.
- The Grateful Table: This popular Greek restaurant is likely to impress with a burger showcasing their flare for beloved Mediterranean flavours.
- Chef’s Choice: Expect the unexpected from this culinary hotspot as they showcase their innovative take on the beloved burger.
- Millennium Park Concession: A surprising contender, the Millennium Park Concession might just have a hidden gem of a burger waiting to be discovered.
- The Black Rooster: Leaning into their strengths serving classic pub fare, The Black Rooster’s burger is sure to be a standout with a burger even non-burger lovers will love.
- The Nineteenth: This upscale establishment will undoubtedly offer a gourmet burger experience. Their reputation precedes them when it comes to fantastic burgers.
- Maple Mirch: The new kid on the block, Maple Mirch will undoubtedly bring their special sauce to the competition.
- B’s Eatery (Chances Casino): These guys know all about winning. Offering a casual dining atmosphere, B’s Eatery is likely to deliver a crowd-pleasing burger.

How to Vote
Votes will be tallied after the competition closes August 31st! You can vote online once a day per person, or in-person via a ballot given to you by your waiter at each of the participating restaurants.

2024 Castlegar Burger Month Winner
The 2024 Castlegar Burger Month competition has concluded, and the winner is Maple Mirch – Masala Date Burger!
We tried every burger in the competition this year, and loved the Masala Date Burger too, with its croissant bun, sweet and savoury date sauce, and curry flavours.
It was so good, it actually won the competition in ALL THREE categories: presentation, taste, and originality! Huge congratulations to Maple Mirch!
