What is May Days?

Kaslo May Days (a tradition since 1892!), is celebrated every Victoria Day weekend, and one of the two major festivals hosted in Kaslo each year. This action packed three-day festival marks the arrival of summer with an array of events and activities for all ages.

There’s fantastic food, music, and activities all weekend, but if you only have time for the highlights, check out the Logger Sports competition, showcasing impressive logging skills, and the Show ‘n Shine car show featuring vintage vehicles. The festival also hosts a good old fashioned parade and the longest-running consecutive Maypole dance in North America (over 100 years!).

If you’re looking to relax with friends old or new, enjoy come live music, local food vendors, and artisan crafts in Vimy Park, for a perfect family-friendly event to kick off the summer season​.

Logger Sports: A one-of-a-kind spectacle featuring real live lumberjacks competing in all feats of skill and strength. You’ve never seen anything like it!

Music in the Park: Some of the area’s best musicians perform here for free, and with so much talent to choose from, it’s superb!

Show & Shine: Classic cars from over the years, carefully restored to their peak condition.

Maypole Dance: For over 100 years, the children of Kaslo have been dancing to welcome the arrival of spring!
