Georama Growers
Just a few minutes outside Nelson, Georama is a perfect weekend destination for gardening enthusiasts. From low-maintenance perennial flowers to larger shrubs and trees, this nursery is our go-to for trees and bushes in the Kootenays. Georama recently changed owners, and their team continues to provide the valuable insight and advice they’ve become known for. Dig Garden Center
Located at Playmor Junction halfway between Nelson and Castlegar, Dig Garden Centre is another gem in the Kootenays’ horticultural landscape. Dig offers a curated selection of plants that thrive in our local climate, with easy to use germination equipment to start your plants off strong indoors. Their selection of seeds is awesome, with an impressive array of fruit and vegetable seeds filling out an array of racks. We found a few new tomato varieties there that we can’t wait to try!
Looking for drought-resistant succulents or vibrant annuals? One visit to Dig will inspire creativity in any gardener and have you coming back year after year. Visitors can also explore Dig’s collection of garden décor and pottery, adding a touch of style to their outdoor spaces year round.
